Obituary of James Vincent Cunningham Sr.

James V. "Jim" Cunningham Sr., 70, of Dillsboro, passed away Monday April 27, 2020. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, Jim was the son of the late Weaver and Bonnie Cunningham. A Member of Locust Field Baptist Church, he retired in 2007 from the Sylva ABC Store. He was an avid and lifelong fan of the Oakland Raiders. He loved his old pickup trucks and loved his family dearly especially his little kitty, Tabitha. While enjoying his retirement he would enjoy spending time with his friends and family. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by 2 of his sisters; Mary Sue Guilino and Shirley Ashe. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Norma Taylor Son- James V. "Jim" (Melissa) Cunningham Jr 2 Granddaughters- Maggie (Daniel), Caroline (Austin) Sister- Linda (Horace) Snyder of Houston, TX 3 Brothers- Bob (Pat) Cunningham, Tom (Linda) Cunningham, Mike (Nancy) Cunningham all of Sylva Numerous dearly loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews also survive. There were and still are a whole mess of kids of blood related and just loved related that he loved and took care of and watch grow. A Private family graveside service will be held.
