Obituary of Leona Oma McMahan

Leona Cabe McMahan, 95, of Sylva, passed away Sunday May 3, 2020. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County she was the daughter of the late Linden and Hattie Rickman Cabe. Leona was a member of New Savannah Baptist Church and she loved quilting, watching birds and flowers. The most precious thing in the world for Leona was having her family and grandchildren around her. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband James Adam McMahan, 4 of their children; Judy, Ray, Faye and Joyce, 5 of her grandchildren and one of her great grandchildren also preceded her. She was the last surviving sibling in her family. She is survived by 4 children; Linda Phillips of Sylva, Wanda Farley of Whittier, Bob McMahan of Kingsport, TN, and Tammy Jones of Sylva 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
