Obituary of Emma Faye Brown

Emma Faye Brown, age 73, of Sylva, went to her heavenly home Sunday, October 14, 2012, surrounded by her loving husband and family . Emma Faye was born July 9, 1939, in Tuckasegee, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, Dewey Parker and her brother, James Weldon Parker. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Truman Brown, her mother Queenie Nicholson Parker of Tuckasegee, two daughters, Donna Kay Cabe of Sylva, Sandra McMahan of Sylva and one son Blake Brown of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Bobbie June Owens of Brevard, Diane Huggins of Brevard and Brenda Messer of Tuckasegee; two brothers, Glennon Parker of Brevard and Ronald Parker of Tuckasegee. Grandchildren are Parker Brown, Jared Jones, Cassie Cabe, Caroline Brown, Summer McMahan and Brayden McMahan. Emma Faye enjoyed her family, bluegrass and gospel music and her grandchildren. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services on Thursday October 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Claude Nicholson and Rev. Jason Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday October 17, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jared Jones, Parker Brown, Brayden McMahan, Chad Parker, Tim Brown and James Huggins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Denver and Dakota Ashe.
