Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Ward
Mary Elizabeth Ward (Sutton), age 91 of Arden, NC, (originally from Dillsboro), passed away Monday, September 7, 2020. She was born on September 8, 1928, in Jackson County to the late John Baxter and Lola (Pangle) Sutton.
She was an avid reader who loved gardening and flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary will be dearly missed by her loving children, Sandra (Fred) McLean, Claude (Narla) Ward, Phyllis Cooper; brother, Wilson Sutton; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy (Tori), Cheslea; great-grandchildren, Robert, Victoria, Jackson, Gage, Gia, Gavin, Kylee, Tylee; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Ward; sisters, Maude, Dorothy; and brothers, Richard, Ramsey, Hilliard, Claude, John Baxter, and Marshall.
