Obituary of Lavonia Andrews

Lavonia “Pinky” Andrews, age 73, of Sylva, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Jim Andrews and the daughter of the late Bill and Carolyn Fish.

She was a member of Cullowhee Baptist Church. She was retired from the office of the Registrar at Western Carolina University. She loved the outdoors, hiking, gardening, needlework, and crafting. She dearly loved her family.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was also preceded in death by her nephew; Corey Fish.

Lavonia is survived by one son; Todd (Christy) Andrews, two grandsons; Austin and Bryson Andrews, and three brothers; Bruce (Dixie) Fish, Dennis (Rosilyn) Fish, and Kenny (Rene) Fish. She is also survived by a very special friend; Kim Cook and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, NC. Rev. Earl Holden, Pastor Dennis Fish, and Revs. Jeffrey and Tonya Vickery will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
