Obituary of Clarence Hornsby, Jr.

Clarence Hornsby, Jr., age 70 of, Sylva, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020.   He was born on January 16, 1950, in Winnsboro, SC, to the late Clarence and Elma (nee Reynolds) Hornsby.

He was a US Air Force Veteran.  Clarence enjoyed camping in the mountains and traveling to the beach; he especially loved his time with family and friends. 

Clarence will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Annette (nee Denny); children, Marc Hornsby, Heather Hornsby, Caroline (Parrish) Powers; sister, Jody Speagle; grandchildren, Hope, Allyson, Chase, and John.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lavonne and Richard Hornsby; sister, Mary Jo Nickels; and brother-in-law, Perry Speagle.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00PM on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva, with Rev. Peter Mudge officiating.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, NC.  Floral orders may be sent to the funeral home.
