Obituary of Britta Lee Coggins

Britta Lee Bryson Cogging, 94, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.  She was a native and life-long resident of Cullowhee, N.C.  She was the last surviving child of Beth Carroll Bryson and Walter Bryson. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Luther Coggins; her daughter, Mildred Coggins Whitstine; and grandson, Michael Buchanan. 

Britta Lee is survived by her sons, Verlon Coggins of Cullowhee; Clifford Coggins and wife, Gay, of Pisgah Forest; grandchildren:  Kenneth Buchanan (Deb); Steve Buchanan (Lynn); Karen Hall (Robert); Angie Parton (Randy); Stacy Coggins (Lyn); Crystal Reese (Tracey); Regina Myers (Anthony); and Shannon Coggins; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Fall Cliff Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020, with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Tommy Holden will officiate.  Burial will follow at Fall Cliff Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Fall Cliff Cemetery Fund, c/o Joyce Crowder, 3445 Cullowhee Mountain Road, Cullowhee, NC 28723.
