Obituary of Mary Jo Aiken
Mary Jo Aiken, 78, of the Caney Fork Community, passed away Monday November 23, 2020. A native and a life long resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Zebulon and Sally Mathis.
Mary Jo enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers and especially spending time with her grandsons and family. She was a member of Balsam Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Colie Aiken, her three brothers; Conley, Dillard and Denton Mathis, and her three sisters; Ellen, Ruth, Irene and Nellie
She is survived by her son Chester Allen (Patty) Mathis of Cullowhee
Grandsons- Joshua (Nicole) Mathis of Franklin amd Jacob Mathis of Cullowhee
Great Grandchild- Colton Mathis
2 Brothers; Claude and Tom Mathis both of Cullowhee
Her sister- Bessie (RL) Ammons of Sylva
Due to the Covid 19 the family has chosen to have a Graveside Service 2:00 pm Friday afternoon November 27, 2020 at Balsam Grove Cemetery on Caney Fork. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
