Obituary of Bette Jeanne Reagan

Bette Jeanne Reagan, age 88, of Sylva, passed away November 25, 2020. A native of Whittier, Bette Jeanne taught seventh and eighth grade in North Carolina State Schools for over 30 years, during which time she was an accomplished artist and also ran her own business. Bette Jeanne was a dedicated animal lover and a member of First United Church of Sylva.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Haynes Reagan and Bessie Martin Reagan, and one sister, Myrtha Ann Wilson. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Richard O. Wilson, Jr., of Sylva; two nephews, Haynes Christopher Wilson, of Cullowhee, and Richard Eric (wife, Wendy Michelle) Wilson, of Loganville, GA; two great nieces, Mary Reagan Wilson, of Loganville, GA, and Elizabeth Ann Hurbst of Hobart, OK; great nephew, Samuel Christopher Wilson, of Cullowhee; many cousins and extended family. 

Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, November 29, 3:00 PM at Reagan Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-3 PM at the graveside prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bette Jeanne's name to ARF aka Jackson County Humane Society, PO Box 298, Sylva, NC 28779.
