Obituary of Marilyn Legrande Parris Henry

Marilyn Legrande Parris Henry, age 84 of Sylva NC, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020.   She was born on October 19, 1936 in Jackson County, to the late Glenn and Alma (nee Foster) Parris.

She was a member of East Sylva Baptist Church and a resident at Skyland Care Center. She was Vice President of the Residence Council and a member of the Songbird Singing Group at Skyland.  Marilyn was also a wonderful cook.  Her biscuits and gravy were second to none.

Marilyn will be dearly missed by her children, Deborah (Mike) Ray, Larry (Debbie) Henry, Keith (Donna) Henry; siblings, Bobbie McCall, Jerry (Joanne) Parris; grandsons, Jim (Melanie) Henry, Jason (Tiffany) Henry, Jeremy (Trisha) Ray, Justin (Krystal) Ray, Joshua Henry, Joseph Henry; great-grandchildren, Travis, Jacob, Jaylen, and Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert; her parents; and brother-in-law, Rev. Ray McCall.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Sylva, with Rev. Reed Benson officiating.
