Obituary of Frances C. Strawn

Frances C. Strawn, age 68, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at her home in Sylva. Mrs. Strawn was born January 3, 1944 in Cocoa, FL. She is the daughter of the late John and the late Essie Mae Stokes Grant. Frances was a homemaker, she loved her flower garden and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband William Strawn of the home; two sons, Billy Strawn, Jr of Selma, Al and Bernard Strawn of Yuma, WA; two daughters, Sharon and JC Payne Jr. and Suzanne Jaynes and Doc Smith, all of Sylva, a sister Geraldine Cason of FL; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Service on Monday, November 26 at 7:00 pm, with the Reverend Jason Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medwest Hospice of Sylva, 132 Sylva Plaza, Sylva, NC 28779. The family would like to extend special thanks to Drs. Matt Mahar and Travis Stuckey for their care and service. .
