Obituary of Melanie Stoeppelwerth

Melanie Lorene Stoeppelwerth, infant daughter of Sean Mark and Miranda Heather (Thompson) Stoeppelwerth of Tuckasegee, NC died Thursday, June 29, 2011 at Medwest Harris of Sylva, NC. Melaine was born May 18, 2011 in Sylva, NC. She was named after her aunt, Melanie Brooke Thompson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Helen Gass Thompson of Sylva, Lorene Calhoun Mathis of Bryson City, and Theodore Moore of Sylva; and paternal grandparents, Raymond and Shirley Miner. She is survived by her parents, a brother, Sage Maddox, and sister Kaitlin Stoeppelwerth of the home; her paternal grandparents, Gary and Barbara Bissonette of Etowah, NC; and maternal grandparents, Hugh and Kathie Thompson of Sylva, a maternal great grandfather, Frank Thompson of Sylva; aunts, Trinity Lorene Thompson Pokusa and Brittany Thompson; uncles Garett Bisonnette and Allen Stoeppelwerth, and cousins, Savannah Brooke, Thomas Hugh, and Bradley Alex Pokusa. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 6 until 8 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva. The funeral will be in the chapel of Appalachian on Thursday, July 7, at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Eddie Stillwell will officiate.Burial will follow in Fairview Gardens, Sylva.
