Obituary of Barbara Ann Ashe Miller

Barbara Ann Ashe Miller, age 80 of Whittier NC, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021.   She was born on April 29, 1940, in Jackson County, to the late Cornelious and Ethel (King) Ashe.

Barbara was a member of Wilmot Baptist Church. She loved to cook and go camping, but her passion was spending time with family and friends; especially her great-grandboys.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Teresa (Mickey) Rathbone, Mary (Cale) Wilson; sisters, Shirley Bumgarner, Elaine (Marshall) Jones, Evelina (Ralph) Davis, Opal (LC) Bumgarner; brothers, Homer (Mary) Ashe, Cory (Peggy) Ashe; granddaughters, Brittany (Blake) Hawkins, Bethany Wilson; great-grandsons, Rylan and Axl Hawkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, JV Miller; sisters, Gerlene Ashe, Pauline Kalin; brother, Harl Ashe; and great-grandson, Easton Cagle. 

A Funeral Service for Barbara will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Wilmot Baptist Church, 2029 Thomas Valley Rd, Wilmot, NC.   There will be a one hour visitation prior to services at 2:00pm.  Revs. Johnny Ray Davis and Eddie Stillwell, officiating.  Interment will follow at Wilmot Cemetery.
