Obituary of Barbara June Sampayo

Barbara June Sampayo (Mathis), age 62 of Tuckasegee NC, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2021.   She was born on July 4, 1958, in Jackson County, to the late Cecil and Sarah (Trantham) Mathis.

Barbara was a sweet, precious soul who was beloved by all who knew her.  She enjoyed flowers, butterflies, the color purple, and loved to have everything clean and organized.  She especially treasured her time with her grandchildren. 

Barb will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Felipe; children, Kevin & Kyle (Sarah Pennington) Broom; siblings, Jerri Mathis, Carl Mathis, Aileen (Richard) Salamy; grandchildren, Melanie, Amber, Colton; best friends, Cathy Mathis, Stephanie Hensley, Gail Broom; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Mathis Cemetery, Broom Rd., Tuckasegee.  Pastors Keith Owens and Tim Pressley, officiating.
