My condolences to all of the family of Rev. Harry. What a walk with God Rev. Harry had and what a great testimony he leaves behind. Paul and I were blessed by his advice and leadership. We appreciated him.

Rev. Harry Vance, an amazing Christian who served the Lord for nearly a whole lifetime, almost 100 years! And the VANCE FAMILY, one of the most respected Christian Families in the western North Crolina mountains. Rev. Vance and his FAITH, Witness and Service to Others will long be remembered. I give a lot of credit to Rev. Harry Vance's mother for holding the family together following the death of the father, Raymond, in a railroad accident at Cullowhee, NC.
I was a young lad at Lovedale Baptist Church near Sylva, NC in the late 1940's and early 1950's. "Aunt" Sally Vance, as she was well known by the church members, was a Senior Member of the Membership of the Church. Of all of the thousands of "Good" people that I have ever encountered in church services during the last 70 plus years of attending church, I still consider Sally Vance to be the most likely to be considered "Sainthood" Status.
When church difficulties occurred or family health or other crisis were of great concerns, the church membership would gather in prayer and it was always asked that "Aunt" Sally Vance be the one to close in prayer. It was assumed that if anyone's prayers got up to Heaven and were Answered, they would most likely be those of Sally Vance. Sally Vance did not pray to the Lord as if he was a million miles away, She would pray as if the Lord was in the very room and maybe seated only three or four feet away! It was Amazing! Just Amazing!
Thoughts and Prayers for the Vance Family.

We were so sad to hear the news of Harry's passing. He was a truly wonderful person. His strong voice, soaring out in song - mid sermon - will never be forgotten! He sang with such compassion, love, and thanksgiving. We will miss our friend. Helen, Ottie, Lee and family, you'll be in our prayers for God to bring you comfort in the many memories you hold.
Love,
Amy, Sheila and Katie

I am so sorry about the loss of Harry. The video was wonderful and brought tears to my eyes just remembering the ones who have gone on. My Aunt Audrey Dean would ake us sometimes to see her family. Mrs Margaret is one f my favorite memories and Mary Bennett sang at my wedding. We have lost a jewel, a man that we all loved and respected, loved his sermns. Heaven gained our jewel and the family is rejoicing together. We will see them aain in a better place as Rev Harry always told us. Know we are here for any of you and our prayers and thoughts will continue for your comfort. May God bless you all.
