Oh my.
I am so sad to hear of Dr. Triplette's passing. I can't believe I'm just now finding this out.
He was such a big part of my college experience and later in life as I was finding my way.
My favorite memory is mowing his grass for beer. Loved the summers there.
What a shame, I loved thinking of him as happy and retired.
:(

I want everyone to know that Dr. Triplette was my favorite professor and mentor in Geograpy and Planning, at Western Carolina University. He was also my major professor. Always there with a joke, a slightly hidden smile, and words of wisdom and advice that were not only a great education for me, but inspirational as well. And I can't tell you how many letters of recommendation he wrote for me as my eduation and career continued their path. He loved special collections as hobbies, and even wrote articles about them. Dr Triplette, I can't tell you how much I will miss you, but you already know!

Hey Uncle Ralphy, I will have to say I am very impressed with all of the many things that you have done and all of the people that you have touched in your life, even though you were kind of a hermit. You rock!!!lol....that means laugh at loud...hahaha....if the college kids didn't teach you that, or if you never texted, which I doubt you did. I am sad for my mom, who loves you very much and is deep down saddened that you left without her having a last moment, but you and Walter had a say, and that is special. I love you and will miss you. You will always be a special person and a wonderful man who had a very beautiful life with a wonderful woman....Mary, who I hope I will get to know better. One thing that I will say that you have taught me is that I need to always do what I need to do for me, and that I should always aspire for what I think is right. Thank you for that. I hope that I have lived up to that and will continue to strive for that. See you at some point, or not.... Either way....you are very loved. Always.

Miss you Uncle Ralph! You were a wise and witty man with a charming penchant for license plates, Western states, and beer. Now you can enjoy those things all the time. We love you and dear Mary very very much.

Mary, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Ralph was one of my most memorable college professors. His wit and knowledge always made me excited to attend his Geography classes. I am sorry for your loss.
