Obituary of Charlie Willard Bryson

Willard Bryson, 77, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday March 16, 2021. A native and a lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Bud and Flora Bryson. 

Willard was a Member of Sunrise House of Worship and loved coon hunting, fishing and old westerns. He would also enjoy listening to Gospel music and Bible tapes but he truly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and the Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Betty Ann Wilkes Bryson, his son; Charles Dean Bryson, his brothers; Ransom, Robert and Charles Bryson, his sisters; Lois and Kathleen and his son-in-law Ricky Mathis

He is survived by his 3 daughters; Lynn Mathis of Balsam, Tina (Randy) Revis of Whittier and Lisa (Darrell) Pruett of Sylva

Grandchildren- Tiffany Franklin, Joseph Mathis, Kayla Banks, Amy Tatro, Christy Maney and Tonya Pruett

8 Great Grandchildren 

His sister- Brenda Price

Step Mother- Mildred White

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday March 21, 2021, in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Tim Dillard officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family would like to ask if social distancing could be in effect and masks to be worn.  Thank you!
