Obituary of Charlene Kay Rector

Charlene Rector, age 71, of Sylva, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Belva Rector.

As a psychiatric nurse, she impacted the lives of many people. In later years, she owned Shared Blessings Farm, where she raised many types of animals and continued touching the lives of many. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother; Bill Rector.

Charlene is survived by her beloved partner of 33 years; Jackie Hooper, one brother; Ray Rector, one sister; Caroline Rector, and several nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 4:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, NC. with Rev. John Parks officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charlene's name to the charity of their choice or to any local food pantry.
