Obituary of Ivalee Z. Coggins

Ivalee Ertzberger Coggins of Mills River, NC, age 100, formally of Cullowhee, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 19, 2021. She was born in 1920 in Anderson, SC.

She is survived by one son; Truman Coggins (Becky) of Delta, CO, three daughters; Zettie Evitt of Yellow Mountain, Frankie Higdon (Tony) of Little Canada, and Sherry Helms of Fletcher. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren.

Ivalee was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; Wesley, one son; Troy, and three grandchildren. 

She loved to go to church and loved her church family. She also loved to make a garden and share the vegetables with her friends. She was an avid quilter. She loved her family and will be truly missed.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm in Fairview Cemetery. Revs. Jim Ed Powell, Eddie Stillwell, and Wayne Owens will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Four Seasons Hospice, Elizabeth House, 581 South Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC 28731.
