Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Lusk

Mary Elizabeth "Sissy" Abernathy Lusk, 65, of Glenville, went home to be with her family in Heaven, Friday April 30, 2021.  A native of Mecklenburg County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Abernathy. 

'Sissy" was a Member of Hamburg Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed painting, hummingbirds, planting in her flower garden and her favorite board game 5000.  Sissy loved all children, especially her grandchildren, and was loved by all that knew her.  

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brothers ; Roy Lee and baby brother Charles Lloyd Abernathy, also preceding her was her great niece Candis Nicole Williams and her niece Cynthia Abernathy. 

She is survived by her husband of 38 years Roy Lusk

Her children; David Lusk (Stephanie Coppedge- deceased) of Athens, TN

Starlette (Billy) Berry of Cashiers

Matthew Alan (Deana) Lusk of Glenville

Amber Kay (Robert Landry) Lusk of Rosman

7 Grandchildren- Kimberly and Nathan Berry, August Dyer Lusk, Breighanna Lusk, Virginia Arlynn Lusk, Elizabeth Tyler Lusk and Matthew Dustin-James Dodd

Sisters; Linda Abernathy and Sandra Nelson

Brothers- Perry, Richard and David Abernathy

and several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday May 6, 2021 at Hamburg Baptist Church with the Revs. Josh Holden and Felix Villarreal officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the Service at the Church. Burial will follow at Hamburg Cemetery.
