Obituary of Cecil Kyle Cosper
Cecil Kyle Cosper, age 67, passed away at home on May 18, 2021, following a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Cecil “Pete” and Wilma Cosper.
Kyle received his Bachelors degree from Western Carolina University. After graduation, he began a career in the restaurant field. He eventually went back to Western to get his MBA. In 1992, he moved to Charleston, SC and in 1993, got a job as a teaching professor at Johnson and Wales University. He was the assistant culinary director for 7 years and also taught business courses throughout his time there. He left them in 2006 when the University decided to relocate to Charlotte, NC. After that, he taught online courses until he retired back to Cullowhee.
Kyle was an avid fisherman and would go anytime he had the chance. He loved catching trout in the Tuckasegee and even did some deep sea fishing in the Atlantic ocean when he had the opportunity.
He is survived by his three children: Michael Cosper, Justin Cosper, and Branden Cosper, and four grandchildren: Madison, Tyler, Jaden, and Rileigh. He is also survived by his sister Kay Cosper Miller and husband Terry.
