Obituary of Nancy Burnett

Nancy Bishop Burnett, age 83, of Tuckasegee, NC, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Leon James Bishop and the late Rozelle Elizabeth Morton. 

Born in Orlando, FL, Nancy was a retired administrator in the cookie manufacturing industry. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son; Ernest P. Burnett Jr., one sister; Patti Ann Bishop, and an ex-husband; Ernest P. "Sonny" Burnett. 

Nancy is survived by one daughter; Andrea Shumate, five grandchildren; Matthew S. (Liz) Shumate, Marilyn S. (Will) Nesbitt, Ernest P. Burnett III, Dakota Beebe and Jackson Beebe and by two daughter-in-laws; Bethany Burnett and Gina Burnett. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Pinhook Valley Memorial Baptist Church in Tuckasegee, NC with Rev. Michael Blanton officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service from 12:30 pm until 1:00 pm at the church.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Nancy's memory to the Building Fund of Pinhook Valley Memorial Baptist Church, PO Box 615, Highway 215, Tuckasegee, NC 28723.
