Obituary of Michael David Salling

Michael David Salling, 62, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday June 29, 2021. A resident of Jackson County for the past 25 years, he was the son of the late Martha Mills and Wilfred Salling. Mike enjoyed fishing and was an incredible chef, who loved to prepare meals for everyone with love. He would love to hunt for treasures (he was very knowledgable in antiques and art) and was an advocate for the underdog. He would stand up for anyone who was in need. He loved his sisters dearly and touched so many lives along the way.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his nephew Drew Hamilton.

He is survived by his sisters; Leslie Mills Angiolillo of NYC and Margarett Hamilton Egelus of Waynesville

Nephews; Austin Hamilton and Andrea Angiolillo

Brothers; Steve Salling (Gina) of Cincinnati and Mark Salling of California

Soulmate- Sheila Drake

Oldest dearest friend- Britt McClung

A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday July 6, 2021 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 until 6:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home.
