Obituary of William Glenn Prewitt
William “Glenn” Prewitt, 63, of Sylva passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Duke University Hospital. Glenn was born on August 29, 1957 in Williamsburg, KY to the late Raymond and Joyce Prewitt. Glenn enjoyed shooting guns and fishing. He loved being on social media keeping in touch with his family and friends. Glenn worked as a school bus driver for 10 years for Jackson County public schools and later worked at Conmet. Glenn attended Faith Baptist Church in Sylva.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Shaina Prewitt (Coleman Sellers); sisters, Lena Richie (Oval), and Linda Blanton; brothers, Ronald Prewitt (Betsy) of Leicester, NC, and Bobby Prewitt (Joan) of Snover, MI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his brother Roy Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Appalachian Funeral Services. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, July 23, 2021, at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Peter Mudge officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Baptist Church in Sylva.
