Obituary of Freddie Jo McConnell

Freddie Jo McConnell, age 86, of Sylva, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 20, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Ila Hoxit McConnell. 

She was a member of Webster Baptist Church and was a retired cosmetologist.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers; Bob and Tom McConnell. 

Freddie Jo is survived by one son; Timothy Milton McConnell, one sister; Nancy McConnell and two brothers; James (Olean) McConnell and Ray (Janice) McConnell. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Sylva with Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Mike Farmer officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service at the graveside. 

The McConnell family respectfully requests that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced for the service.
