Obituary of Richard A. Blevins

Richard A. Blevins, age 82, of Sylva died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Mountain Trace Nursing Center of Sylva, NC. Mr. Blevins was born May 14, 1930 in Yancey County, NC. He is the son of the late Walker and the late Ethel (Silver) Blevins. He served in the army during the Korean Conflict . He retired from Firestone Tire Co. as a Machinist in 1995. He is survived by his wife: Louise Blevins; two sons, Mark Rhea and Jeff Rhea and wife Sherrie; two daughters, Kimberly Anderson and Vickie Laughters and husband Mark; a step daughter, Renee Polhemus; granddaughters, Marcy Rhea, Sarah Rhea, and Courtney Rhea; grandsons, Daniel Anderson and Austin Fender; brothers Archer Blevens, Jack Blevins and wife Dorothy, and Ronald Blevins and wife Sandra; a sister Betty Waters and husband Gene; and various nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time. . .
