Obituary of Blanche Messer

Blanche "Lucy" Messer 82 of Sylva passed away on Saturday September 11th. She was born December 15, 1938 to the late Osborne and Ella Angel . She is survived by her husband, Joe L. Messer.

Blanche loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed working in her garden, traveling and cooking. Blanche was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was overseer of the church Fellowship Hall.

In addition to her husband, Joe L. Blanche is survived by a brother, Pat Angel and his wife Peggy Jo. One niece, Marilyn Beck and one nephew, Dennis Beck; a great niece, Tatum Beck and a great great nephew, Kobe Conley also survive as well as several nieces and nephews and friends. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 16th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Ernie Jamison and Rev. Mike Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
