Obituary of Dorothy Ruth Parrish
Dorothy Ruth Parrish was born in Syracuse, New York. She resided in many states until she settled down in Cullowhee, North Carolina. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she held many positions. Dorothy spent her career in the service industry starting off as a waitress, followed by working with elderly patients in a nursing home, then ending her career taking care of hombound patients. Dorothy delighted in being surrounded by family, traveling, reading on her back deck, listening to christian music, bird watching and cooking. Many nights she could be found watching her favorite game shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, with a bowl of homemade popcorn and apple slices. Some of Dorothy's favorites included the color yellow, root beer, and banana splits. Dorothy had a huge heart not only for her family, but also for her church family. She always looked forward to holidays and family gatherings, the more the merrier. She will be remembered by her loved ones for her love of owls, the way she lived in faith, her generous heart, and the love she had for her family.
