Obituary of Dinah Mathis

Dinah Blanton Mathis, age 63, of Sylva died Monday, February 4, 2013 at John Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC. Dinah was born October 12, 1949 in Jackson County. She is the daughter of the late Emmitt Blanton She was employed as a nurse until her retirement. She was a member of the East Fork Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother, Dixie Frady Blanton of Sylva; one son Kyle Baldwin and wife Angie of Sylva; two daughters Michelle Mathis Huston and husband Mark of Asheville and Sadie Mathis Simerly and husband Marty of Maryville, Tenn; a sister, Anita and Mike Broom of Sylva; five grandchildren Trevor, Bret and Emmitt Baldwin; Mark and Madilyn Huston. A funeral service will be at 8:00 pm February 6, 20123 in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Dennis Burrell and Rev. Earl Holden officiating. Burial will be Thursday February 7, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Blanton Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm before the service at the funeral home.
