Obituary of Darlene Johnson

Darlene Johnson, age 66, of Glenville died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Elizabeth House of East Flat Rock, NC. Darlene was born June 16, 1946 in Jackson County , NC. She is the daughter of the late John Lewis and the late Margaret (Golden) Aiken. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Henry Johnson; a daughter, Deanna Baker; a sister, Dorothy Russell; and two brothers, J.D. and Lewis Aikens. She was employed by High Hampton Inn as a house keeper. She enjoyed reading Western, working word search puzzles, and enjoyed watching science fiction. She was a member of Big Ridge Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Kelley of Molino, Fla; two brothers, James Cecil Aiken of Cashiers and Johnny Odell Aiken of Sapphire; two sisters, Doris Mae Coggins of Balsam, and Delma Jean Autry, of Sylva; and seven grandchildren, T.J., Austin, Cheyenne, and Kelsey Baker; Robert Colton and Ceaira Henson; and Noah White. The funeral will be held at Hamburg Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 26 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Johnny Norris and Rev. Nathan Johnson officiating. Visitation will be at Appalachian Funeral Services on Monday, March 25 from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Big Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
