Obituary of Ethel Wilkey

Ethel Wilkey, 104, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday morning March 30, 2013. A native of Watauga County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Wiley B. and Lizzie Norris Holsclaw. She taught Sunday School classes for years and was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and loved growing her flowers. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Joe Wilkey, her daughter- Elizabeth Abernathy, her grandson- Joseph Wilkey and by her 10 siblings. She is survived by 2 Sons- Frank Wilkie and his wife Rachel of Sylva Dennis Wilkey and his wife Judy of Sylva 4 Grandchildren- Sally Teddy and her husband David of Shelby, Sara Doolittle and her husband Todd of Franklin, Angela Peeler and her husband Chuck of Greensboro , Janice hill and her husband Jerry of Sylva 9 Great Grandchildren also survive Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday April 2 at Sylva First Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Ed Beddingfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM prior to the Service at the Church. Burial will be in Frankling Cemetery on Long Branch.
