Obituary of Robert (Bob) Wheatley

Robert (Bob) Wheatley, age 67, of Cullowhee went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Homestead Hospice of Clyde, NC. Mr. Wheatley was born December 8, 1945 in Jackson County. He is the son of the late Harry and the late Ethel Parker Wheatley. In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy; five brothers and five sisters. Bob loved to hunt and was a member and deacon of Fall Cliff Baptist Church. He owned and operated Cullowhee Service Center. Bob is survived by three daughters, Tammy Hooper, Wilma Nations, and Ann Cooper; two brothers, Jim Wheatley of Merit Island, Fla. and J.E. Wheatley of Sylva; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, with the Rev. Tom Holden officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 prior to the service. Burial will be held in Nations Creek Cemetery in Whittier. Pallbearers will be Zeke Cooper, Matthew Nations, Brady Hooper, Chad Case, Adam Larcher and Mark Wheatley, honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Childers and Luther Coggins.
