Obituary of Doris Bumgarner

Doris Fowler Bumgarner, 79, passed away Tuesday May 7, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Cashiers, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Fannie Cowan Fowler. She enjoyed crocheting and playing the piano. She had worked for her family’s business, Fowlers Grocery. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Marvin Bumgarner and her son, Doug Bumgarner. She is survived by - Daughter- Brenda Jones and her husband Dennis 2 Sons- Mike Bumgarner and his wife Myra, Marvin Bumgarner Jr. and his wife Joyce 1 Sister- Faye Stewart 4 Brothers- Marvin, Kenneth, Ray and Adrian Fowler 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren Several nieces and nephews also survive Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday May 10 at Cashiers Baptist Church with the Revs. Scotty Patrick and Tommy Madden officiating. Burial will be in Upper Zachary Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8:00 PM at the Church.
