It was an honor and privilege to have known Sona for the short time that I did. Even though we never actually met in person, she made me feel like we were lifelong friends! I loved her and respected her so much. I will always have her in my heart! Condolences to her son, Keegen, and family.

I worked with Sona for 4 years as a student worker at the Mountain Heritage Center. We saw each other 3-4 times a week.
Everytime I walked down the hallway to go to work, I would see Sona sitting at her desk. She would get up, have a giant smile, and laugh that laugh that she did so well. She called me Scotty the Awesome, and I called her Space Captain Sona the Mighty, which never seemed to get old for her.
She seemed to take pleasure in just about everything, even going as far as to laugh at every one of my terrible jokes.
I can't speak for anyone else, but Sona made my world a brighter place just by being around.
I have never in my life met a sweeter human being than Sona Norton, and as long as I live I will remember her.

We went through our teenage years together and Sona was the best friend you could ever wish to have. We experienced a lot of 'firsts' together and she was always there for you. A shoulder to cry on and the knack of making everything seem alright. She lit up the room when she came in with her gorgeous smile. Our daughter never met her but always refers to her as Auntie Sona. Our love and thoughts go out to Keegan and all his family xx

Sona was beautiful inside and out
This we know without a doubt
Sharing a smile was what she was always about
And she loves her Keegan from Heaven she shouts.
We remember how she was sweet and kind
As we hold loving memories of her in our mind.
She leaves a caring legacy behind
And no one more unselfish will you find.
She was an ambitious lady with more than one goal
And the love of life was deep in her soul.
Her zest for family was bold
While taking on her mother role.
Our memories of her are a work of art
And from our lives she will never depart.
Her smile greets us each day like a sunrise in the park.
Sona’s glow lives on in our hearts.
If she had to leave us, we are glad she is in a perfect land
With Jesus holding her hand
As she leads the Heavenly smiling band
She lives on in us like a beacon lighthouse in the sand.
We love you Sona!

I have just learned of Sona's passing from her Father, and I am deeply saddened at the loss of a truly beautiful human being. Sona and I have known each other since 1976, and we spent some treasured moments together. We found each other again some 3 years ago and have been in touch ever since. It was wonderful to be able to ‘turn back time' with Sona and revisit those special times.
After all those years Sona was still the same sweet, intelligent, selfless, generous person she always was, and never failed to make me laugh with her wonderful sense of humour and amusing gifts. Sona recently sent 2 boxed Christmas bells for my Granddaughters to hang on the tree (a la The Polar Express), this year, and every year from now on, they will ring for her.
God bless her, and her Parents Edwin and Marian who must be very proud of her. There will always be a candle burning in my heart for her.

My Bubbly Sona was what I called her and in return I was her Sweet Kita. She could light up a room and bring the sun out on the darkest days with just her smile, her laugh, and her smiling beautiful face. She is and will always be one of my most precious and special friends. Every letter she wrote was filled with such love and happiness. Hearing her voice and knowing that I could speak with her even if I couldn't see her was a gift to me every time. She made everyone she met feel like they were special to her. Our first meeting at the Mountain Heritage Center was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. You know, she was an amazing and beautiful person, both inside and out. She was there for me when I was going through some rough times and I made sure I was and could be there for her when she had her rough times along with the good times. I felt like I've known her far longer than 2 years. I'm going to miss our talks and her letters. We were supposed to meet up and have that wonderful cup of tea...There's so much more to say, but I can't even find the words to express how much she meant to me. There aren't many people in the world left out there like Sona. She made me believe that I could do anything and that I was a strong person. She was there for me and I was there for her as much as I could be. I used to tell her, "Don't let that goose get you down ducky." You were one special lady My Bubbly Sona. I will continue to cherish every memory that I have of you and every card and letter that you sent me. To me, she'll never truly be gone because she is still with me in my heart and memories. She touched my life with her laugh and her strength, so I will never forget her. My condolences and prayers go out to the family.

sometimes people come on your path,
with shared wisdom,
experience too familiar..
with a smile you might recognize,
with a tear you realize,
and then you really know,
I see you...
And we saw each other,
we knew it was good..
Lovely beautiful lady, sharing your love around the world with a smile, where you gave away your smile, you left footprints in many hearts.. You be missed!! Love always.!

I am very sorry to learn of your loss of Sona. The Bible's promises are just what we need when we mourn the loss of someone we love. Jesus Christ states at John 5:28,29 that there will be a resurrection. At Revelation 21:4 Almighty God promises to end death, tears, pain and mourning. May these scriptural promises give you a measure of comfort and hope. Please accept my sincere condolence.
