Obituary of Kate Henson

Kate Carden Henson, age 98, formerly of Sylva died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Macon Valley Nursing Center in Franklin, NC. Mrs. Henson was born March 31, 1915 in Sylva, NC. She is the daughter of the late Floyd and the late Bertha (Elmore) Carden and was preceded in death by her husband Frank Henson and one sister and three brothers. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Lovedale Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, David Henson of Franklin and Tom Henson of Winston Salem; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Sunday June 23, 2013 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Mike Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Gardens. . .
