Obituary of Dills Rhinehart

John Ramsey Dills Rhinehart, 80, of Sylva passed away Monday, August 5, 2013. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Frank and Leona Mull Rhinehart. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea, who loved fishing, hunting, gardening, canning and especially his dogs. He retired from the Contel telephone company as an installer after 32 years. He was a member of the Sylva Fire Department for over 20 years. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Gail Rhinehart and by 2 sisters, Beulah Weaver and Ann R. Sutton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Eleanor Cable Rhinehart; two daughters- Kathy and husband Duane Morgan and Kim and husband Sonny Freshour, all of Sylva; a sister, Virginia Mashburn of Sylva; and a brother, Butch Rhinehart of Sylva. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, August 8 at East Sylva Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with Revs. Reed Benson and Charles Dean officiating. Burial will be in Lovedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9:00 PM at Appalachian Funeral Services.
