Obituary of Dorothy Queen Lewis

Dorothy Queen Lewis,66, of Sylva passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 21, 2013 at her home in Sylva. Born May 3, 1947 in Swain County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Dock Haynes and Lora Lambert Queen. She enjoyed going to the lake, camping, and fishing and adored spending time with her grandkids. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Howell. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Mick Lewis 4 Sons- Travis and his wife Kim Lewis , Justin and his wife Renee Lewis, Chad and his wife Carrie Lewis, Eric and his wife Sheila Lewis all of Sylva Grandchildren- Courtney and her husband Ryan Carman, Camen Lewis, Sydney Lewis, Trevor, Mason, Daniella, and Brayden Lewis Great Granddaughter- Zylur Carman 3 Sisters- Ravenna Hughes of Murphy, Geraldine Lewis and her husband Jimmy of Murphy, Barbara Lewis and her husband Paul of Sylva 1 Brother- D.H.Queen and his wife Rita of Waynesville Special Niece and nephew, Sandy and Kenny Howell, who were raised like a sister and brother, as well as several other nieces and nephews that also survive A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 PM Saturday August 24, in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Mike Firestine officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Breast Cancer Association, 113 Redbud Lane, Martinez, GA, 30907 Appalachian Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements .
