Obituary of Joyce Ann Carnes

Joyce Ann Green Carnes, 66, of Sylva, died July 23, 2011 at MedWest Regional Hospital, after a period of declining health. A Native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Kathleen Bryson Green. Surviving are the husband of 47 years, Elbert Junior Carnes; One Daughter, Gina Carnes Bradley and her husband Larry of Mills River; One brother, Harold Green and his wife Diane of Arizona and Washington; One grandson; One Step grandson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was such a beautiful, strong, stylish woman with a solid, unshakable faith in God. One who has given all she has and more to ensure those around her were provided for, cared for and loved. She truly loved her family, friends and Church and she will remembered as a very special lady. This world is a better place by her having been in it. We have lost a true friend. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 4, 2011 at Appalachian Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Dean officiating. The family will welcome friends from 6 until 7 PM and The Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 PM.
