Obituary of Thomas Harold Ensley

Thomas Harold Ensley, age 73, of Sylva passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at his home in Sylva. Harold was born September 5, 1940 in Jackson Co., NC. He is the son of the late Roosevelt and Geneva (Painter) Ensley. He married Linda Willis Ensley. He is survived by his wife: Linda Ensley ; his mother Geneva (Painter) Ensley; two sons; Danny Carroll Ensley (Annette) of Robbinsville and Eric Ensley (Janie) of Franklin. Three stepsons; Jerry Thompson (Vickie), Chris Thompson (Jessica) and Darrell Thompson (Jenny) of Dublin, GA. One sister, Susie Jones and one brother, Gerald Ensley of Sylva. Two grandchildren, Callen Anothony and Darrell Thompson, Jr., both of the home. A total of 15 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He is preceeded in death by his father, Roosevelt Ensley and one sister, Jackie Rovella Ensley. Harold was the president of the Woodman of the World and a member for 62 years. He was also a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and loved NASCAR racing. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 16, 2013 at 8:00 pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. Family will receive friends 3 hours prior to the service from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lovedale Cemetery. Rev. Earl Holden, Eddie Stillwell, and Aryn Williams will be officiating. Pall Bearers are Joseph Ensley, Austin Walls, Lyndon Ashe, Todd Ensley, Scott Ensley, Tye Jones, Jerry Thompson and Travis Painter.
