Obituary of Betty "Brownie" Alice Shuler

Betty Alice "Brownie" Shuler, age 79, of Sylva passed Monday, September 16, 2013 at her daughter's home in Greenback, TN. Ms. Shuler was born June 18, 1934 in Jackson County, NC. She is the daughter of the late Cole and the late Ida (Rabb) Burch. She was self-employed at a hair dresser. She is survived by two daughters; Glenda Alexander, husband Alex, of Greenback, TN and Brenda Crawford, husband Randy, of Sylva; two granddaughters; Tatum Conley of Sylva, Kim Mingus of Asheville; four great grandchildren and one niece, Gayle Gandy of Columbia, SC. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. Family will receive friends 1 (one) hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Dennis Burrell will officiate the service. Burial will be at Locust Field Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Locust Field Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 90, Dillsboro, NC 28725. . .
