Obituary of Mary A. Bryson

Mary Hawkins (Nana) Bryson, 89 went home on October 10, 2013. She was the wife of the late Logan Bryson. She was a resident of Mountain Trace Nursing Home. She was born July 20, 1924 in Sapphire, NC. She was the last surviving child of the late Wade and Elsie Monteith Hawkins. She was preceded in death by three sisters Devola Lewis, Edna Seabock and Lonas Collins and two brothers, Tom and her twin brother, Wood. In addition she was preceded by a son-in-law, RL Franks, and a grandson, Matt Franks. Mary was a homemaker and former sewing factory supervisor and Subway employee; she was a member of Cashiers Baptist Church. Mary is survived by a son, Mike and wife, Helen Bryson, and a daughter, Sherry Bryson Franks. Four grandchildren: Sheila Franks Moody, Chris Bryson, Mitch Bryson and Tameka Bryson Buchanan. Five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held Sunday October 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Cashiers Baptist Church with the Rev. Scotty Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Upper Zachary Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM Until 8:00 PM Saturday at Appalachian Funeral Services.
