I had a dream I sat down and talked to you for an hour last night. It was bizarre...
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again. To my uncle Miles. May God take you into heaven. <3

Miles had a huge heart and welcomed all into his life and home. From the morning coffee shop talks, to Halloween parties with the kids and activities at Summit, Miles was always there. He will be missed my many. Much love to Jake and Coleen during this trying time. Sending our love from Ohio...Angela and Siena.

We were shocked to get the news of Miles passing. Miles and Coleen – what a pair! I remember the meeting, the courtship and the wedding. Miles - as nervous as a young pup asking Coleen out and seeking advice! It was endearing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends at this difficult time.

...Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you....

Our trips to N.C. won't be the same without Miles. Miles, Coleen and Jake have been a big part of our family since we first came to Cashiers in the late 90s. Miles has been like family to us and we will truly miss him. He was always there when we needed him no matter what the situation. We will miss him coming to our home for the annual Players golf tournament. Miles was a devoted husband to Coleen and loving father to Jake. He will always live in our hearts.

We met Miles while building our summer home in WMV on Lake Glenville in the mid-1990's. Miles met us at a picnic table at a nearby campground and gave us support and good advice. He also welcomed us into his temp home on Apple Blossom Way one snowy January 1997 when we made a trip to see status of our construction just after Ruth's father passed away in Madison, GA. He was to us always generous, kind, and dear hearted. We will miss him.
Our love and blessings go to Colleen, his dear wife and a friend also, and his son, Jake, as they move forward without Miles in the flesh, but always in the spirit. And indeed Miles had great spirit!

Oh, I remember those early mornings at Tommy's, yes the usual crown would gather and share stores, everyone in a rush to get to their jobs, take the kids to school and simply fellowship with each other. Jake was usually there having his favorite pastry with his Dad, they were inseparable. Miles was loved by many of us, you will be missed. We will see you again one day in that special place we call heaven. God Bless you Miles.

Miles is one of those rare wonderful spirits who will forever be with those who loved him and were loved by him. I am so very grateful for all of the marvelous times I've shared with Miles, Coleen and Jake. To be enveloped by such a caring & giving family is a blessing that I'll always treasure. R
