Obituary of James Lloyd Keener

James Lloyd Keener, age 67, of Balsam passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at his home. James was born May 11, 1946 in Sylva, NC. He is the son of the late David Lloyd and the late Eva (Green) Keener. He was a 1965 graduate of Sylva Webster High School and a member of the Waynesville Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served in the Army as well as owning and operating Jim’s Sew and Vac Shop for 32 years serving Sylva and Waynesville. He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Brenda (Taylor) Keener; two daughters, Francie Keener of New Jersey and Melinda Keener of Florida; one granddaughter, Brittani Holden and one great granddaughter, Jessa Saunook. A memorial service will be held 7:30 pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC with the Rev. Tim Sheridan officiating.
