Obituary of Frederick Bauknecht
Frederick G. Bauknecht, age 81, of Cullowhee went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 9, 2013. He was born July 11, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA. Frederick is the son of the late Karl and the late Elizabeth (Schmidt) Bauknecht.
He served as a Sargent in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Frederick was employed as a pattern maker for over 30 years in the automotive industry. While in Philadelphia, Frederick was an active member of the Masons and Shriners. He loved fishing and hunting. Frederick was a Boy Scout Leader and was very proud of both his Eagle Scout sons. He and his family owned and operated a water sports business in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Frederick is survived by his wife of 56 years: Shirley (Wright) Bauknecht; two sons, Frederick J. Bauknecht and wife, Sherry and John K. Bauknecht and wife, Carol Jean, all of Cullowhee; and three grandsons, Jesse, Luke and Jacob.
A memorial service will be held on December 7, 2013 at 11AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Sylva, with Rev. Bill Surjak officiating. Because of his love for his Pomeranian, Foxy, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society (ARF) PO Box 298 Sylva, NC 28779.
