Obituary of Charlite Christine Powell

Charlite Christine Ashe Powell, 76, of Rosman, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, NC. Charlite was born February 5, 1937 in Jackson County to the late Sherill and Myrtle Melton Ashe. She was a member of East Sylva Baptist Church. She retired after 30 years of service from Brevard College. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gordon, Henry and Corbin Ashe, as well as her sisters Naomi Shook, Martha and Othella Ashe, and a brother in law Frank Nicholson. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Conrad Powell of Rosman 2 Sisters- Dellia Nicholson Wilma and her husband Walter Young Brother-in-law- Harrison and his wife Faye Powell 3 Sisters in law- Frankie Ashe and Mary Lou Ashe both of Sylva, and Ruth Ashe of Red Bluff, CA Several nieces and nephews also survive Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday November 20 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs.David Powell and Don Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens A Memorial Service will be held in Brevard at a later date. . .
