Obituary of Paul Howard Greene

Paul Howard Greene, age 70, of Sylva died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at his home. Mr. Greene was born July 7, 1943 in Sylva. He is the son of the late John Howard and the late Fanny (Hooper) Greene. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Darrell Greene. Paul was employed by the NC Department of Transportation. He was an avid bear hunter and loved to watch girls fast pitch softball, especially when his two granddaughters were playing. He is survived by a son, Chris Greene and wife, Sarah, of Sylva; a daughter, Paula Greene Steele, of Franklin; a stepson, Michael Justice; a stepdaughter, Alicia Maney; one sister Wanda Sutton of Sylva; five grandchildren, Justin Steele, Jordan Greene, Anissa Steele, Makinley Greene, and Andrew Vinson; and three great grandchildren, Heidi Steele, Kinsley Crowe, and Jacelyn Steele. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva, with Rev. Roger Stewman officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Appalachian Funeral Services to help with final expenses. . .
