Obituary of Willie Ruth Crowe Gibson

Willie Ruth Crowe Gibson, age 75, of Sylva died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Homestead Hospice of Clyde, NC. Willie Ruth was born December 26, 1937 in Seneca, SC. She is the daughter of the late Dewey and the late Gertrude (McCall) Crowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother; a sister, and a granddaughter and by her husband James Gibson She was a housewife, mother to five children, and loved gardening. She is survived by Mona Gibson Brooks; Amy Gibson Parris; James Gibson, Jr.; Monica Gibson Stephens; Mimi Gibson Parris; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 25 at Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC with Rev. Phillip Wyatt officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Candler Elders Family Cemetery on Piney Mountain.
