Have you ever wondered if there could ever be a world without trouble a place for you and me.A place where we can live without sorrow without fear where a man can live in peace and can live for endless years.Does it my friend seem too good to be true?A paradise earth with blue skies so blue. With animals and mankind living together in peace God's promises are true these things will never cease. The dead can awake from their sleep in the dust to a paradise earth it's a promise we can trust. Those that have died will wake up and see this is the way life was meant to be.Where there will be peace we know this to be true to a paradise earth that has been made new. I have so many memories that it's impossible to tell them all here.i first met Delos when I was in high school and he taught mechanics. I hung out in his class any free time that I could find, even at lunch. We all did. He was so cool that you just wanted to be around him. Then in 1979 I started work at the Dept. Of Transportation and got to spend nearly 27 years with him. That was a blessed time I'm telling you. I've absolutely never known anyone that didn't like this man. When I needed advice (and that was often ) I went to Delos and he always put me on the right track. I guess I got in trouble for be in back talking to Delos when I should have been in the Parts Room doing my job. Sure was worth it though. We had such great times and I could go on and on with stories so I guess I'll have to settle for my favorite one. I was in the Parts Dept one day and unloaded a part that came in this huge box. Well EJ Pullium saw me unload the box and said " well you could put Tater Norman in that box" . The light bulbs started going off in my head. I have pulled so many pranks on Delos that he was very leary of me. So I recruited Tommy Finncannon to do my prank along with Tater Norman. Tater had a beard he had grown and I put Tater in this box that had a hole in the top of it. I got Tommy to wheel Tater on the two wheel cart back to Delos and we told Delos it was a new drill press. We all hid behind different places to watch it all unfold. Delos open the box and Tater was trying to get on his feet to come out with just his beard and teeth showing threw the hole in top. Delos thought we had put a Groundhog in the box and he let out a scream that would work in any Horror film ever made. We all were laughing so hard we were in tears. Like I said I could go on and on but I just want to leave in saying I loved this man. God Bless the family. And Delos my Ol Buddy I'll see you on the other side my friend! ---- Mike Deitz
