Obituary of Juanita Hoxit

Juanita Bates Hoxit, age 75, of Tuckasegee died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at her home. Juanita was born December 6, 1937 in Cherokee County, NC. She is the daughter of the late Lester Thornton and the late Flonnie (Reece) Bates. She was preceded by two brothers and her husband of 52 years, Leeward Hoxit.She is survived by four daughters, Hilda Barron of Tuckasegee, Goldie Jenkins, of Tenn, Janice Garcia, of Sylva, and Patsy Nicholson of SC; three sons, Leonard, Tim, and Lyn Hoxit all of Tuckasegee; a sister Martha Going of Tenn; three brothers John and Larry of SC, and James Bates of Tuckasegee; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on December 3, 2013 in the Charley’s Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Luker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Charley’s Creek Church Cemetery. Also a memorial service will be held at a later date. .
