Obituary of Betty Denton Grant

Betty D. Grant, 74, of Whittier, passed away Tuesday evening December 10, 2013 at her home after a long battle with cancer. A native of Caldwell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Claude Denton. Betty loved her flowers and enjoyed working with the children at Shoal Creek Baptist Church of which she was a member. She was a member of the Gideon Center International Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her sister Glenda Denton. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Jerry Grant 2 Sons- David Grant and his wife Karen of Burlington, NC Bruce Grant and his wife Debra of Kernersville, NC 5 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren Her mother- Ruby Gore Sister- Mary Ward of Thomasville Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 13 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Steve Jamison officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mrs. Grants name to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Asheville, NC 28801 .
